Last reading summary

What I read last class was about Courts of appeals and the U.S. Supreme court. The courts of appeals hear the appeals from both people and agencies, but they have no original jurisdiction. Unlike courts of appeals, the supreme court has some original and appellate jurisdiction. Original jurisdiction such as hearing cases between the United States and a states and cases between a state and citizen from another country. also Supreme court may hear appeals from all lower federal courts.

  2. Haha, it's amazing how different disciplines have such wildly divergent vocabulary. You're right, Kevin, when non-lawyers read this, we only have a small understanding of what it actually means in practice. :)
